A lodge safari offers you the opportunity to combine simple luxuries with the allure of the wilderness. First class accommodation, excellent food, and breath-taking views will all be part of your safari experience. Each lodge is located in natural safari surroundings and some provide extra facilities such as swimming pools. In general, the lodges work on a full board or half board basis, and rooms have their own private bathroom. Please note that not all national parks have lodges.
A luxury permanent tented camp combines the comfort of a lodge with the sensation of camping in the wild. Each permanent tent has two beds with mosquito nets and is self-contained. Many of the tented camps have an en-suite bathroom and a viewing deck. The more luxurious tented camps have a swimming pool alongside the main lodge, where guests gather to watch the sunset and eat meals. However, as with the lodges, not all national parks have permanent tented camps.
A camping safari is the most frequently selected safari style. It offers a proximity to nature that is unparalleled. Camping inside national parks such as Ngorongoro Crater is not always permitted, but there are campsites available in the outskirts. The campsites are open and occasionally wild animals roam at night. However, they are not harmful. Toilet and shower facilities are, well… rustic, but nevertheless camping is an experience not to be forgotten.
